Tiger-eye
As a member of the quartz family, the tiger’s eye stones are layered with shiny yellow and brown ripples, similar to the eyes of felines. In the family’s collection, the Alhambra® Four-leaf Lucky collection draws attention to the Tigereye’s characteristic iridesis and variations, brought to life in the classic four-leaf lucky pattern.
Tiger’s eye stone has been regarded as a symbol of protecting warriors since ancient times, and is also known as the “all-seeing eye”. The ancient Romans saw it as a sign of physical and mental health.
Van Cleef & Arpels selected stones with light and dark stripes and even straight lines.
Tiger’s eye stone is a relatively durable and easy to clean gemstone. The family would like to share with you some special precautions to keep the gemstone works old and fresh.
In order to keep the stones shiny and avoid scratches, the family recommends keeping the Tiger’s eye pieces separate from other stones and stored in a fabric lined jewelry box.
Repeated exposure to corrosive chemicals can erode the sheen of the tiger’s eye. Therefore, it is best to avoid direct contact between gemstones and fragrances, lotions, or alcohol gels.
It is possible for the stones to be damaged by external impact, and we recommend that you remove the family jewelry during sporting events.
You can clean the gem with soapy water and a soft brush, then dry it with a soft cloth.
